Media summary: Curt Collins died after a police car that was chasing him pinned him against a wall on the South Side. Police said Collins and another man were in the 8000 block South May Street at about 9 p.m. when two officers in a marked car tried to stop them on suspicion of drug charges. Both men reportedly ran, with one officer chasing on foot, and the other in the car. Collins ran west into a vacant lot on Racine Avenue. Police said the squad car jumped the curb to follow Collins, slid on wet grass and pinned him against a wall. Collins died at the scene. According to police, Collins' death was an accident.
