Media summary: Quintanilla drove a red Dodge Stratus at a speed of 57 mph in a 35 mph lane. Officer Rene Cruz pulled the Stratus over and stepped out of his vehicle. Quintanilla sped away. Officer Cruz returned to his vehicle and pursued. Quintanilla crashed fatally into a mesquite tree. It was later learned that he was drunk and high on cocaine.
