A deputy made contact with the vehicle at around 12:23 p.m. and observed the female passenger still in the car. He attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the vehicle did not stop, and the deputy pursued. At around 12:27 p.m., the deputy decided that the driver of the vehicle he was chasing was acting too recklessly and reportedly ended the chase. About a minute later, the deputy reported seeing debris flying in the air after an apparent collision. The deputy saw that the Nissan Altima had crossed the center line and hit a northbound dump truck in Walford.
