Media summary: Cavazos used his truck to strike a Child Protective Services vehicle, then threatened a CPS employee with a knife, in an attempt to gain access to his children, riding in the vehicle. Deputies told Cavasos to drop his knife. He obeyed, but remained standing and begged to see his children. A deputy fired a shot, striking the ground at Cavasos's feet. Cavasos "reacted" to the shot. Deputy Anthony McAdoo fired a second shot, killing Cavasos. Family members who witnessed shooting were outraged.
