Media summary: Las Vegas police officer saw Barrington Hall on the steps of a second-floor apartment he had been called to. When he went to the apartment door, a person inside told him Hall had just killed the person's sister. While at the door, the officer heard a metallic sound behind him and ducked in time to avoid being shot in the head by Hall. Hall turned and ran down the stairs and pointed the gun at the officer, who fired four times, killing Hall. Hall's shot was close enough to the officer's face that the officer suffered burn wounds from the powder. An investigation found Hall had killed his ex-girlfriend inside the apartment.
