Media summary: Around 9 p.m., a Buckley police officer was attempting to contact a man wanted in a felony assault and felony harassment incident that happened earlier in the day in the city of Carbonado. The Buckley officer was being assisted by a Puyallup police officer and at least two Pierce County Sheriff's deputies. The officers encountered the man in the road near the residence and shot and killed him. It was not immediately known which officer fired the fatal shot, but Buckley officer Arthur Fetter, 29, Pierce County sheriff's deputy Travis Calderwood, 28, and Puyallup officer Barclay Tuell, 30, were reportedly involved.
