Media summary: Karen Williams died from injuries sustained a week after a Pontiac fleeing deputies crashed into her car. According to police, three men had robbed a U.S. Cellular Store in Belvidere before hitting Williams' car as she was leaving the Cherry-Vale mall parking lot. After the crash, Ronaldo Fort Jr., 20, a passenger in the Pontiac, allegedly shot at a deputy, who returned fire. No one was hit by the gunfire. The driver, Bryant Locke, 19, was charged with three counts of first-degree murder and aggravated fleeing to elude. Locke, Fort and the other passenger, D'Angelo Brooks, 19, were each charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm.
