Media summary: Aubrey N. Nothum was killed after a pickup truck driven by a 13-year-old girl fleeing a deputy crashed into her car. At around midnight, the deputy reportedly saw a 2001 Chevrolet S-10 crossing onto the shoulder and suspected the driver might be intoxicated. According to police, the deputy turned around and attempted to stop the pickup, but the driver refused to stop. As the truck entered the city, the driver accelerated. The deputy reportedly slowed down, but continued the pursuit until the driver lost control of the truck while trying to turn right onto Highway 100. Nothum's 2002 Mazda was stopped at a red light waiting to turn left when the truck struck her car. The impact pushed both vehicles off of the north side of Highway 100. Nothum was pronounced dead at a hospital.
