Police shot and killed outside a Walmart at about 6:50 p.m. An officer approached the driver's side for unspecified reasons, and a shot reportedly rang out from inside the pickup. The officer shot and killed Steven Matze.

Albion Department of Public Safety officers attempted to pull over Brian Laxton for not having plates. Laxton fled west on Interstate 94, and police pursued. Laxton allegedly shot at police. The chase ended when a Calhoun County deputy ran into Laxton's car. He ran from the car with a handgun, attempting to enter an occupied home. Officer Christof Klein told Laxton to drop the gun, but Laxton turned toward Klein with the gun in hand, and Klein shot and killed him.

A trooper responded to a 911 call regarding a report of a domestic dispute. The trooper entered Mark A. Beilby's home. Beilby allegedly confronted the officer with a knife and failed to comply with an order to disarm. He advanced toward the trooper, who shot and killed him.

Ronald Hoffman showed up at a house with a rifle. Police alleged that he ignored their commands to drop the weapon and then fled into a wooded area. A state trooper shot and killed him.

Brendan Pinkston was allegedly trespassing with a gun when a caller reported him to 911. He left the property before police arrived. Four officers -- three from the Burton Police Department and one sheriff's deputy -- responded. The officers and deputy found Pinkston. He fled on foot and allegedly fired at police, injuring Burton Police Officer Dalton Christie and Genesee County Sheriff's Deputy Brandon Fachting. Police shot and killed Pinkston.

Deputies responded around 6:52 p.m. to a call about a woman threatening to harm herself. When deputies arrived, a man came out of the home and told deputies that Chantel Myers, was threatening to harm herself with a firearm and had fired one shot inside the home. The man also gave deputies a suicide note handwritten by Myers. Deputies used a public address system to communicate with Myers. Myers remained inside for a while, making verbal threats toward the deputies, before allegedly coming out of the home with a firearm. Myers allegedly advanced toward the deputies in an aggressive manner while continuing to threaten to harm them. Myers got between the two patrol units the deputies were using for cover, then raised her weapon and pursued one of the deputies around the vehicle. The deputy shot and killed Myers.

Deputies responded to a call about a drug overdose at about 3:30 p.m. When deputies arrived, they found Robert Rushton inside his vehicle, which was stuck in mud. As he exited the vehicle, Rushton had a knife in each hand, and deputies ordered him to drop the knives. Rushton reportedly continued to approach the deputies with the knives, and the deputies shot and killed him.

Deputies said a stolen pickup truck was seen at 1:25 p.m. in Mount Clemens. When officers tried to arrest the driver, he fled at a high speeds, striking at least one undercover deputy's vehicle. Minutes later, police received a call about a crash. Linda Jozefiak was killed.

About 4:10 a.m., uniformed officers responded to reports of a man armed with a knife and a gun. Upon arrival, the officers spotted the man carrying a knife in one hand, with his other hand concealed in a coat pocket. Following a foot pursuit during which attempts were made to incapacitate Eudes Pierre with Tasers, Pierre allegedly rushed at officers, and officers shot and killed him. He was armed with a folding knife with a three-inch blade.

About 7 p.m., license plate scanners picked up a vehicle connected to a wanted felon. Officers found the driver and tried to stop him, but police said he drove roughly two miles away and crashed near Travis Air Force Base. Fairfield police shut down the intersection to try to communicate with the driver. When he didn't respond, they said officers approached the vehicle and discovered he was dead of a self-inflicted gunshot.

At about 7:43 p.m., a deputy saw a 2018 Honda motorcycle traveling east at a high rate of speed. The deputy pursued the motorcycle east on W. Water Street and learned that the motorcycle had been previously reported stolen out of the City of Ithaca. The deputy attempted to stop the motorcycle. The motorcycle slowed to a near stop before turning around and traveling at high speeds west on W. Water Street, against the flow of one-way roadway traffic. The deputy did not pursue the motorcycle and radioed the Communications Center, advising them that the motorcycle had fled the stop. The motorcycle continued west on W. Water Street and struck a 2016 Ford Fusion. James Thigpen was killed.

Eric L. Nelson was involved in a single-vehicle crash about noon and deputies responded. Deputies learned that there were felony warrants previously issued against Nelson in Bogalusa and they asked the Bogalusa Police to come. When the Bogalusa officers arrived, Nelson ran away and after a brief chase on foot, during which a Taser was used, he was arrested. Nelson began complaining of respiratory issues and died.

Around 5 a.m., several officers responded to a disturbance involving a backhoe and found Joshua Gonzalez operating the construction equipment at the Penn Lincoln Mobile Home Park. The officers attempted for around 30 minutes to stop Gonzalez. During that time, the backhoe caused damage to several residences and vehicles. While the officers were attempting to stop Gonzalez, Officer Louis Platania shot and killed him.

Police were called about 7 p.m. when a man forced his way into his ex-wife's home during a fight. While the ex-wife was able to get out, the man held her 13-year-old daughter at knifepoint inside. When officers arrived, one officer shot and killed the man. The girl, however, was stabbed several times by the man.

About 4:15 p.m., deputies saw a truck heading that matched the description of a vehicle stolen during a kidnapping. Deputies attempted to stop the truck, but driver, Anthony Lara, fled. He reportedly ran through a stop sign and lost control of the truck, veered left and crashed into a home. The two other occupants of the truck, a 49-year-old Yucaipa man and a 32-year-old Highland woman, were killed.

Jeremy Yates fled after deputies from the Madison County Sheriff's Office approached his vehicle around 9 p.m. He fired at passing vehicles and at sheriff's deputies during the chase, which ended when Yates' vehicle veered off a road and overturned, killing him. At was not immediately disclosed whether he died of gunshots or the crash.

Ramon Alex Tocabens shot and killed himself around 7:15 a.m. after being served a warrant on child abuse and neglect charges.

A chase began in West Memphis, Arkansas, and ended in Memphis, Tennessee, when a trooper spotted a car matching one on an outstanding warrant out of South Carolina. Trooper Spencer Morris exchanged gunfire with the men, and at least one of them shot and injured him during the chase. Terrance Dogan, 27, and John H. Taylor, 18, were killed by the trooper.

A shots fired call came in at 2:37 a.m. When officers arrived, they noticed a car parked on the side of the road next to Cedar Hill Park with the doors open. They heard shots fired in the woods nearby. Officers repeatedly ordered the gunman to surrender, and a Metro officer shot at him with his department-issued shotgun. The alleged gunman was shot and killed.

Around 11 a.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle in which the driver was the sole occupant. The deputy allegedly saw indicators to investigate the driver for potential drug trafficking, and Dehut was arrested. He was taken to a sheriff's substation. Dehut was described as cooperative and willing to provide a statement. There was no force used by any of the deputies involved. During the interview, Dehut began to act strangely. Medics reportedly arrived within five minutes of being called. Dehut's condition deteriorated from there, and medics administered "multiple rounds" of Narcan, a drug which quickly counteracts the effects of an overdose. Dehut died.

Jahad Patterson allegedly was attempting to break into a liquor store when police responded. Police engaged Patterson in the parking lot of a nearby strip mall, where they shot and killed him. Police say Patterson had a gun in his possession.

A deputy had responded to a suspicious vehicle at Floral Lawns cemetery. Keith Hinrichsen allegedly left his vehicle, pointed a firearm in the direction of the deputy and refused orders to drop the firearm, and the deputy shot and killed him.

A chase started in Mitchell County and ended in Yancey County. Trooper Kevin Glenn was attempting to put out a tire deflation device around 4:25 p.m. in the area of U.S. 19 and Newdale Church Road in Yancey County when he was shot. The alleged shooter, Bobby Lee Byrd Jr., was killed some time later in a crash.

Around 6:50 a.m., a person was shot in the area of Hoover and Evergreen avenues. Gardner allegedly fired at least six shots, wounding a 49-year-old man walking his dog. Gardner barricaded himself inside his nearby home and refused to come out. When Gardner ran out of the house with a gun, nine officers fired 37 shots, killing him.

Around 9 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a home regarding a shots fired call. A caller reported that a man came into her backyard wearing a black hoodie and a red facemask and fired at least one shot. The man then reportedly left walking westbound on West Alan Ayers Road. A deputy contacted the man and shot and killed him. Police have withheld details as to what precipitated the killing.

At about 11:30 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a Nation's Giant Hamburgers, where an armed man entered and robbed the cashier. An off-duty officer from the UC Berkeley Police Department was dining at the restaurant and confronted Amanuel Moreno. The officer fired one shot, killing Moreno.

Police responded to a shots fired call on a residential block. Upon arrival, they reportedly found George Hollins firing a shotgun from a house. Police surrounded the residence. Police allegedly saw Hollins in the doorway with makeshift Molotov cocktails. Hollins reportedly began shooting at neighbors. Hollins exited the home with a shotgun. One officer shot and killed Hollins.

Two off-duty police officers and other citizens reportedly saw Patrick Horton walking and firing shots into the air. The off-duty officers followed Horton until two on-duty officers arrived. Officers told Horton to put his gun down, and Horton complied. Horton then allegedly picked the gun back up and fired at officers. Police shot and killed Horton.

Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. An officer approached the vehicle, and ordered the driver to get out of the car. Christopher Sterusky got out of the car and began speaking to the officer. The officer said the interrogation escalated to a fight. The officer shot and killed Sterusky.

Officers attempted to stop a 2016 Nissan at approximately 3:19 a.m. The Nissan fled, and officers reportedly ended their pursuit after losing sight of the vehicle. Six minutes later, officers were dispatched for an accident. Officers identified the Nissan that fled from police as one of the vehicles in the crash. The driver of the Nissan, William Lane, 34, was heading westbound and hit a Dodge Ram as he crossed the intersection at North Berkley Road. A passenger in the Nissan, Sydney Glenn, was killed. Lane and another passenger were injured. The driver of the Ram, James Conwell, 35, was also injured.

Deputies responded to reports of a vehicle driving the wrong way on the interstate. Police found the vehicle unoccupied on the shoulder of the road. A deputy eventually found the driver, David Talbert, standing near the interstate. Talbert allegedly was holding a gun and ran toward the deputy. The deputy shot and killed Talbert.

Deputies responded to reports of a person with a knife inside a residence. Deputies entered the residence and reportedly encountered a person with a knife. Deputies shot and killed John Moua.

Deputies saw a suspicious truck with stolen license plates. Michael Dingman fled, but because of "legislative reasons" deputies reportedly did not follow. Dingman later crashed on East Bigelow Gulch Road. Deputies used footprints in the snow to search for Dingman. When they found him, gunfire was exchange among Dingman and deputies. Dingman was shot and killed.

Police were pursuing leads in a homicide investigation. Police located Carr in the general vicinity and followed him to a shopping center parking lot. While speaking with Carr in the parking lot, Carr allegedly picked up a handgun. Several officers shot and killed Carr.

An SUV reportedly stolen out of Minneapolis was spotted by Robbinsdale police around 2 a.m. Robbinsdale police chased the car into Minneapolis where the driver of the SUV lost control and crashed. Five juveniles were in the SUV at the time. Shawndale Devon Hickman, 16, and another teenager were killed. The other three were seriously injured.

Police were serving a felony arrest warrant for an aggravated robbery suspect. As they were taking the man into custody, another man reportedly fired at the officers from within a closet. Police shot and killed Donta R. Stewart.

Police responded to reports of a burglary. Upon arrival, police claim they were confronted with a person with a knife. Police shot and killed Michael Pantoja.

About 8 p.m., officers pulled a driver over. The stop reportedly was connected to an ongoing drug investigation. The officers arrested Queivonta Quentez Moffett and took him to headquarters. While there, officers saw he needed medical attention. They believed he ingested unknown drugs before being arrested. Staff at the hospital medically cleared the man, and he was taken back to District 2. While there, he suffered an additional medical emergency and was then taken to Froedtert Hospital for treatment. He was pronounced dead there the next morning.

Mitchell Robert Davis took his dog for a walk. While on that walk, he reportedly called 911. He told the dispatcher he had a Glock, he was going to hurt someone, and he felt like he was possessed. Three officers responded. Davis pulled out what appeared to be a gun and pointed it at officers, who shot and killed him. It was an Airsoft replica gun.

A deputy went to a home to perform a welfare check on Ronald Ehrich. Deputy Anastasia Castillo entered the home and reportedly encountered Ehrich on the second floor. Castillo alleged that Ehrich displayed a firearm and cornered her within the home. Castillo shot and killed Ehrich.

Police responded to a home invasion robbery in which Brandon L. Keck had reportedly stolen the victim's vehicle and driven away. Keck allegedly committed several other carjackings throughout the morning. Police eventually caught up to the vehicle and followed Keck onto I-5. Keck allegedly attempted to carjack another vehicle on the freeway. Police claim Keck shot one of the occupants of the vehicle. Police shot and killed Keck.

Police responded to reports of a man armed with a gun and firing shots into a home. Police said Douglas Halphin rammed his vehicle into a police truck before raising a rifle toward officers. A Jackson County deputy shot and killed Halphin.

An officer spotted a van driving in reverse on a city street, then pull into a parking lot. The officer stopped and questioned the van's driver, who reportedly gave a false name and then fled on foot. The officer chased the man, and a fight between the two men occurred. Around 8 p.m., the officer radioed for help, saying he was involved in a violent encounter with a suspect. Police say that about a minute after that call, emergency dispatchers began receiving calls that an officer and a man he was chasing had been hit by a car. The two struggled, Donald Hill ran into SE 14th Street, followed by the officer, and both men were hit by a vehicle, killing Hill. The officer was injured.

Police were called to a home about a man with a gun threatening neighbors. The first officers encountered Miguel Eduardo Perez Gonzalez yelling at them. Gonzalez was on his porch and allegedly fired the gun. Officers began speaking with Gonzalez, and when he turned toward them holding the gun, officers shot and killed him.

Police responded to reports of someone violating a protective order. The caller reported Quadry Sanders was waving a gun inside the home. Police got Sanders to leave the home. There reportedly was a confrontation. Police shot and killed Sanders.

Officers attempted to stop a vehicle Marysville. The vehicle allegedly was connected to a domestic dispute with a weapon Dec. 3 in Everett. When the emergency lights turned on the driver drove onto the northbound I-5 ramp at 88th Street, exited the car and reportedly shot and killed himself.

Officers in the patrol car were responding to an assist an officer call after an initial chase had ended in an apartment complex. The officers were driving west on Reed Road, toward the apartment complex, when the police car lost control went up onto the curb and hit and killed Michael Wayne Jackson.

Police responded to a campus building after receiving reports of a man armed with a knife and assaulting students. Police found Alhaji Sow and he allegedly lunged at an officer with an edged weapon. Police shot and killed Sow.

About 7:40 p.m., a county deputy was on patrol when he noticed a westbound vehicle being operated recklessly on the two-lane road. The deputy attempted to catch up to the vehicle to make a traffic stop and saw the driver passing other vehicles on a double yellow line while driving in excess of 20 mph over the speed limit. A short time later, the vehicle crashed and caught on fire. Jamari D. Brown was killed.

A 26-year-old man was pronounced dead at a hospital about 90 minutes after officers were called for a man acting erratically in a hotel parking lot.

Police were looking for Anei Gabriel Joker in relation to a rape and robbery case. Upon arrival, police found Joker in an SUV outside of a convenience store, along with an infant in the vehicle. Joker reportedly refused to exit the vehicle or release the child to police. Joker later released the infant from the SUV, but Joker remained inside. Joker left the vehicle and shot two officers. Police shot and killed Joker.

Police responded to reports of a man with a gun. Upon arrival, police claim a man holding two guns approached them and began firing. Two officers shot and killed Brian Howard.

Pilot Rock police requested help from the sheriff's office in locating and checking on a 28-year-old man. Police pinged his phone, which showed he was in the Irrigon area. Deputies reported seeing the man driving 12 mph over the speed limit. Deputies stopped the vehicle on Paterson Ferry Road, and as three deputies approached the vehicle, they heard a gunshot. The man had shot and killed himself.

Edward Gatling reportedly shot two deputies with the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office. Police later found Gatling hiding in the woods after a caller reported a suspicious person. Police shot and killed Gatling.

At 9:35 a.m., officers attempted to contact Aaron Salazar who had been involved in a domestic incident at a home in Socorro. Almost an hour later, he ran out of the home, took off in a pickup truck, and Socorro officers pursued. Salazar crashed at the intersection of Dindinger and Socorro Road, where he abandoned the first truck and carjacked another vehicle. The pursuit continued to San Elizario, eventually to I-10. About 11 a.m., crashed on I-10, the truck coming to rest on the shoulder of the road, after striking a road service truck. Salazar was killed.

Police responded to a domestic violence call. Upon arrival, they encountered two people who had been shot. Arthur Gilliam allegedly shot at officers. Police shot and killed Gilliam.

Police responded to a disturbance/weapon theft call at a home. Police reportedly found a person in a back bedroom and attempted to get the individual to come out. Officers entered the room, and the person allegedly produced a handgun and fired at officers. Police shot and killed him.

A 2018 BMW fled from an officer who attempted to pull the vehicle over. Police said the driver was clocked going 90 miles per hour in a 70 mph zone. The driver, Jermaine Ricardo Bernard, 30, attempted to escape the officer by turning his headlights off and an exit toward Route 301. After failing to make a turn onto 301, Bernard then made a U-turn, heading the wrong way down the exit ramp and eventually traveling south in the northbound lanes of I-95. Emporia Police Officer R.C. Williams, reportedly lost sight of the BMW, which collided with a Lincoln heading north. Both the driver and passenger in the BMW were thrown from the car, and the BMW caught fire. Bernard was flown to VCU Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The passenger of the BMW Melissa R. Dorsett, 36, was killed, as was the passenger in the Lincoln, Meloney Vannessa McCormmock, 26.

Police responded to a disturbance with weapons call. One resident of the home had reportedly been assaulted by Adam McKnight and expressed concern that McKnight may hurt others. Police encountered McKnight in the back of the home, where he allegedly was armed with a machete. McKnight exited a pool house with a machete. McKnight reportedly refused to drop the machete and began to walk toward officers. Officers reportedly deployed Tasers. McKnight reportedly got within feet of Officer R.T. Phillips, who shot and killed McKnight.

Police responded to reports of a man armed with a knife chasing a woman and child from their home. Police forcibly entered the home and reportedly encountered Digno Yorro Jr. holding a knife. Yorro allegedly failed to drop the knife, even after being tasered. Officer J. Burger shot and killed Yorro.

Police responded to a report of a local business having been broken into. Police later found Jeffrey W. Groulx, inside of his car in a nearby parking lot. Groulx sped off once he spotted officers, but crashed down the road. Upon crashing, Groulx allegedly shot at officers with an AK-47. Police shot and killed Groulx.

Police responded to a residence where a man reported his son had attacked him with a knife. Police searched for the person who had fled from the home. Police located the man reportedly carrying a knife and another weapon. Police said he charged at officers, and police shot and killed the man.

Officers responded to a home around 1:45 p.m. A man, about 18 years of age, was threatening a murder-suicide, and family members were trying to de-escalate the situation when officers arrived. The man with the weapon went to the basement, where one officer fired his weapon. The officer reportedly did not hit the man, who then shot and killed himself.

Anthony Oliver allegedly shot three people at Kalamazoo bus station. Kalamazoo police arrived about two minutes after the first 911 call. Officers shot and killed Oliver.

Police were looking for a Subaru reportedly involved in a hit-and-run crash. A deputy found the vehicle crashed through a fence. As deputies approached, the driver, Elijah Richie, allegedly got out of the vehicle armed with a rifle. At least one deputy shot and killed him.

Travers Spargo King allegedly tried to drive into the Marine Corps training facility near Lindbergh Field without permission shortly before noon. After allegedly ignoring repeated orders to halt, King got out of his vehicle and belligerently approached depot personnel with a knife in his hand. They shot and killed him.

Officers were surveilling a vehicle that had been mentioned in previous drug investigations. Officers approached the vehicle and came in contact with German Pedraza. Pedraza allegedly pulled out a pistol. While telling Pedraza to put the gun down, an officer shot and killed Pedraza.

Around 11:30 a.m. officers responded to a call about a man with a gun. Patrol officers found a woman with a fatal gunshot wound inside a neighbor's garage. Officers determined that a nearby home was involved. When they approached the house, officers heard what appeared to be a gunshot inside the residence. When they entered the house , they found the man dead of a self-inflicted gunshot.

A motorcyclist was killed after officers pursued him across multiple Houston-area cities and reached speeds in excess of a 100 mph. The pursuit ended about 9:45 p.m. when went on to Dixie Farm Road, where he turned into oncoming traffic and hit a curb, causing him to lose control of the motorcycle and crash, killing him.

A Vermilion Parish deputy pulled over a motorcycle because the driver wasn't wearing a helmet. The motorist did not produce ID, and allegedly gave false information about who he was. A second deputy arrived, and the man allegedly slowly pulled out a gun from his saddlebag. He didn't point it at the deputies or threaten them, so they pulled their own guns and told him to drop it. He ran into an overgrown area nearby. Deputies identified the man as Kelly Vaughn aka Kelly Griffin, who was wanted on a Montana warrant for possession of a weapon. Surveillance drones verified that Vaughn was armed with a handgun. During negotiations, Vaughn fired at the drones and made several statements threatening suicide, stating he was not going back to jail. Vaughn shot and killed himself at about 4:30 p.m.

About 1 a.m., the sheriff's office received a call that had been transferred to them from the Bessemer Police Department reporting that a man had been shot. The 44-year-old victim was able to drive himself to a location on Powder Plant Road, where he reached police. The victim was then taken to the hospital but was unable to speak with officers. About 6:40 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the mine again, this time on a report of a dead person. Deputies arrived to find Samuel Owens Bell Jr., 80, dead from a gunshot. The victim's 2005 black Cadillac Escalade SUV bearing Alabama tag 1CT7896 had been taken. At about 12:45 p.m., Cullman County deputies observed a suspicious vehicle. The suspect refused to stop and fled. Ultimately, the suspect vehicle became stuck Steven Chad Wright fled on foot and stole another vehicle. Addison police successfully deployed spike strips and disabled the vehicle. Once the vehicle was stopped and the pursuit ended, deputies discovered Wright was dead from a self-inflicted gunshot.

Rockwall police attempted to stop a white Chrysler 300 for the violation of a stolen license plate. The pursuit continued into the city of Fate, and Fate Police Department took over the pursuit. The vehicle traveled into the median of the interstate and lost control, striking a culvert. The driver of the Chrysler was killed, and the passenger was injured.

Police performed a welfare check on a man at a home. Police allege Frank Nappa Jr. exited the home with a rifle and pointed it at officers before going back inside. He reportedly came out another two times, and the third time, Nappa allegedly aimed a rifle in their direction. At least one officer shot and killed him.

U.S. Marshals were attempting to serve an arrest warrant. Officers allege the person ran away from officers and produced a firearm. Officers shot and killed the person. The officer who killed the person was a West Covina police officer assigned to the U.S. Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Around 10 a.m., an officer was working traffic enforcement and conducting radar. A black Lexus SUV sped past the officer in excess of 75 mph. Before the officer could stop the SUV, the driver tried to pass a Dodge Dakota pickup truck that was making a left turn onto Sala Road. The Lexus hit the Dodge and then slammed into an empty minivan parked on the side of the road. The driver was killed.

Deputies were flagged down by a Metro rail patron who told them a man had just been shot on the C-Line Platform at the Metro station. Four deputies spotted the gunman waiting on the platform. He jumped down to the eastbound rail tracks and fired a handgun at the deputies, and the deputies shot and wounded him. The suspect walked up behind Koliba and shot him in the back of his head. Reports of this death are so convoluted it's impossible to tell the sequence of events and whether deputies were present when Koliba was killed.

Officers received a call about a domestic assault outside of town. Two Centerville officers and an Appanoose County sheriff's deputy shot and killed Kevin Arbogast. Details as to what precipitated the killing were withheld by police.

Police pulled Isiah Smith over for driving erratically just before 11 p.m. They also the tags did not belong on the car Smith was driving. Smith allegedly took off when an officer walked toward his car, and the officer pursued. Smith lost control of the car and crashed, ejecting Smith and killed.

An officer tried to stop a vehicle, but the driver fled. The officer pursued until the vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree. Three teenagers -- Kevin Xzavier Angeles, 14, Nelson Steven Candelario Lopez Vargas, 15, and Brian Atian Hutson, 16 -- were killed.

Officers responded around 7:15 p.m. for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. On arrival, officers determined that a man had been repeatedly hitting two women in the face with a shovel. Police arrested the man and placed him on the ground while officers aided the women who had visible injuries. While waiting for emergency aid to arrive, officers noticed that the man was dead.

Police responded to reports of a man armed with a kitchen knife threatening people. Police shot and killed Ajmal Amani when he allegedly charged at them.

Fred O'Bannon, a construction worker, reportedly asked Keyshaun J. Stewart, 25, to get off the highway because they were about to start working. O'Bannon was sitting in his car on I-264 getting ready to start his shift. An off-duty officer was blocking the expressway at 2:30 a.m. Stewart allegedly shot O'Bannon in the head. He then shot and wounded the officer through his patrol car window, hitting him in the left cheek.

Chucky Bowden was wanted in relation to an armed robbery that had happened earlier in the day. Police saw his vehicle and pursued. Bowden reportedly crashed his car and shots were fired, and Bowden drove away. Bowden then reportedly went to a small store and held a number of people hostage inside. Police entered the store and shot and killed Bowden.

Officers were serving Kevin Soles with an arrest warrant for armed robbery. Soles ran into nearby woods. Police caught up to Soles, and he allegedly had a gun. Officers reportedly fired less-lethal rounds at him. Soles pointed his gun at deputies, and a deputy shot and killed Soles.

Police responded to a call from a man who had reportedly been robbed at gunpoint in a parking lot. Police received another call of an armed robbery a short time after. Police received a third call concerning a robbery. Police caught up to a vehicle matching descriptions. Officer Donald Graham hit Thomas with his car. Officer Amelia Lukac arrived, and both Graham and Lukac shot and killed Steven Thomas.

Police reportedly observed Brent Boggess driving recklessly and said he attempted to hit a patrol car. Officers stopped Boggess' vehicle. Police alleged that Boggess refused to get out of the car and instead rammed a patrol car. Officer Ken Schaaf shot and killed Boggess.

Deputies responded to a report of a child being taken from their home at knifepoint. Upon arrival, deputies reportedly saw Henry Duncan holding a knife to the child's throat and making threats. The child was released. Deputies shot and killed Duncan.

Paulo Cesar Alcaraz-Ortiz allegedly was seen driving erratically through the city. Officers said he may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Police began to pursue in Greenfield. The driver entered the 101 Freeway north toward Soledad. Alcaraz drove into a shopping center and rammed a police vehicle. One Greenfield officer and one Soledad officer were injured. He then hit and killed Guadalupe Garcia. Alcaraz was arrested, and police said he will be charged with murder.

Police responded to a call from code enforcement personnel who were at a home for a property abatement matter. A man allegedly threatened the code enforcement personnel with a firearm. Police shot and killed the man.

Quillan Jacobs was running south near the Vibez Lounge while shooting north into a crowd. Jacobs and Todd Duron Nesbitt Jr., 28, had been shooting at each other, police said. Nesbitt fled north but was arrested later the same day. Nesbitt was charged with armed criminal action and assault in the first degree. Officers chased Jacobs into a nearby alley, where they shot and killed him. The incident left five others injured.

Carlos Ortega, 38, shot and killed Rafael Jeffers, 33, the owner of The Bladi Style barber shop, before being shot dead by an off-duty police officer, who was getting his haircut by another stylist. Less than an hour earlier, he killed Javier Villegas Cotto and injured another, unnamed victim, in two separate attacks nearby. At 3:16 p.m., the unidentified officer was getting his hair cut when Ortega entered with a weapon and fatally shot the owner.

Marcus Mann was outside an ER entrance and reportedly being combative with hospital security. An officer who was already in the ER shot and killed Mann.

Deputy marshals attempted to arrest a man, who had a warrant for a parole violation stemming from an assault and rape in California. The man was also wanted for a murder in Los Angeles. The fugitive allegedly shot at deputy marshals, and they shot and killed him.

Officers were dispatched to answer a 911 call at an apartment. On entering the apartment, officers found Holley, nude, pacing rapidly, sweating and speaking incoherently. Officers reportedly were told that Holley had taken a harmful substance. He was tasered and subdued and died.

Officers pursued Elliot Lewis in an hour-long, high-speed chase across the Houston area. He reportedly made phone calls to dispatch during the chase, which started near the Texas Medical Center/OST area about 11 a.m. Police cornered him in a parking lot after intentionally crashing into his vehicle. Lewis allegedly jumped out and started firing an AR-15 rifle at officers. Four officers shot and killed him.

Deputy Sean Speakman reportedly saw Jessiram Rivera in an obvious state of agitation and holding a shovel. The deputy ordered her to stop and put the shovel down and began backing away. She did not put the shovel down, and continued to advance toward the deputy, threatening him with the shovel. Speakman shot and killed Rivera.

Police were called after 1 a.m. by residents who reported hearing gunfire. During a 90-second fight, police shocked Jordon Pas at least three times, including twice at close range, killing him.

Alex Rawls was shot multiple times during a 16-hour standoff. The standoff started around 10:45 a.m., Nov. 8 and ended around 3 a.m., Nov. 9. Rawls was found dead on the second floor of the house and had been hit multiple times, but police later said the fatal shot was self-inflicted. Police provided no proof of this assertion.

Police responded to reports of a person with a gun threatening people in a residence. Police entered into negotiations with those inside, and claim after 6 hours an individual fired at 3 officers. Police returned fire, killing the person.

Police responded to a report of a person with a weapon. Upon arrival, Angie McFarland allegedly pointed a gun at an officer. The officer shot and killed her.

Around 3:45, an employee of the Pita Way Mediterranean Grill brought a gun to the restaurant, but didn't go inside. The person barricaded themselves inside their car, police responded and the person shot and killed themselves during the standoff.

Police were dispatched to a protection-from-abuse violation. While police were there,Andrew Dzwonchyk reportedly showed up in his vehicle. A struggle began while troopers were attempting to arrest him. Dzwonchyk allegedly drove at and dragged a trooper with the vehicle. Troopers shot and killed Dzwonchyk.

Troopers responded to a car crash and attempted to communicate with a driver. Timothy reportedly shot a dog in the car, and troopers shot and killed him.

Police attempted to pull over a vehicle associated with an aggravated assault, suspected abduction, and suspected DUI. The vehicle reportedly did not pull over and eventually went on the interstate. State police knocked the vehicle off the road, and the vehicle overturned. Amity Jo Grey, 47, was killed on impact. Brian Price, 45, reportedly ran from the vehicle, and troopers eventually caught up to him. A fight reportedly began, and a trooper shot and killed Price.

An officer attempted to pull Chelsae Clevenger-Kirk over while riding her motorcycle as she wasn't wearing a helmet and her bike did not have tags. She reportedly refused to stop and continued to her home and went inside. The officer attempted to make contact with Clevenger-Kirk and was unable. While walking back to his patrol car, the officer reportedly heard shots fired in the residence. A standoff began, and Clevenger-Kirk reportedly set fire to her home. Clevenger-Kirk eventually exited her home, allegedly holding a gun. Police shot and killed her. Family members were started by tear gas canisters police fired into the home.

Police responded to reports of a domestic disturbance in which a man armed with a knife was threatening his grandfather. Upon their arrival, Jabbar Muhammad reportedly lunged at his grandfather and stabbed him. Deputies shot and killed Muhammad.

Michael A. Quarrles was shot and killed after allegedly fighting with several police officers responding to a domestic violence call.

Police responded to a single car crash on I-64. Tony Singleton's vehicle reportedly flipped multiple times. An officer shot and killed Singleton. Details as to what precipitated the killing have been withheld by police.

Police responded to reports of a domestic disturbance in which the homeowners wanted an person out of the home. Upon arrival, police encountered Jessica Worsham at the door. Worsham allegedly pulled out a firearm and pointed it at officers. Worsham allegedly shot Deputy Lena Marshall. Another deputy shot and killed Worsham.

Aaron Troy Michael Rehn allegedly shot at an officer. Rehn fatally shot himself during a police search.

A suicidal man's mother called police. He was inside a convenience store who had cut himself. An officer and Derek Collins went outside into the parking lot. Collins allegedly grabbed a passing cyclist and held a knife to his throat. The officer shot and killed Collins.

Officers pursued a Lexus carrying four men until it struck another vehicle that was attempting to make a left turn. The 43-year-old woman who was driving that vehicle and all four men in the Lexus were injured. The woman, Amy Whitelock, 43, and Tyrese Grace, 23, were killed.

A trooper spotted a Toyota Camry around 1:30 a.m. as it exited I-20 East onto I-75 South. The vehicle reportedly was clocked at more than 100 mph. The officer immediately initiated a pursuit through city streets, and I-75. The trooper reportedly lost sight of the vehicle on Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard but found it again after it had crashed. Some accounts dispute this story and suggest the trooper may have knocked the vehicle off the road, where it hit a concrete barrier and killed Ja'Marrius A. Rucker, 25, and pregnant Nadiyah S. McCants, 18.

Troopers from Post 6 in Dry Ridge responded to a 911 call on Chipman Ridge Road in Williamstown when they shot and killed Gary Bressler around 1:45 a.m. Details as to what precipitated the killing have been withheld by police.

Police responded to reports of an person screaming and pounding on cars. Upon arrival, police said Jose Cortez got into a vehicle and drove away. Cortez reportedly sideswiped a patrol car. Cortez eventually abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Police caught up to him and said Cortez moved toward them. An officer deployed a Taser which was reportedly not effective. Police alleged Cortez moved toward officers while reaching near his rear waistband. Police shot and killed Cortez. Cortez was unarmed.

At 12:52 p.m., deputies started a chasing an allegedly stolen 2020 Infiniti QX60. The vehicle was traveling fast and was able to avoid stop sticks placed in the road. The chase continued into Lake County, where the QX60 reportedly hit a Porter County Sheriff's car. The impact caused the driver of the QX60 to lose control and hit a median wall, rolling over several times before coming to a stop on the opposite side of the median wall. The driver and seat passenger were ejected. The passenger was injured. The driver, John Kennedy Fitzgerald Bolden, was killed.

Officers responded to a restaurant about a possibly intoxicated man screaming at customers inside the restaurant at 10:17 a.m. The man fled and fought with police and died.

Johnny McGee's mother called police as McGee was experiencing a mental health crisis at her home. McGee's mother maintains he was unarmed at the time of the shooting, while police said McGee charged at them with a screwdriver.

Police were called at 5:11 p.m. when Glenn William Custer was at a home. When troopers arrived, they found Custer was erratic and armed with a knife, police said. Custer refused commands to drop the knife and instead began moving toward occupied residences. Police said Custer was still refusing to drop the knife when he walked back toward the home the incident began in and toward a trooper, who shot and killed him.

Police responded to a 911 caller who reported being assaulted by an armed man just after 3:30 p.m. Police arrived and shot and killed Joseph Endicott. Details as to what precipitated the killing have been withheld by police.

Jason Jones got into a confrontation with officers, who were familiar with him from previous encounters, before he sprayed himself with hand sanitizer, and the officer tasered him and set him on fire. He died 47 days later.

At approximately 10:25 p.m., Town of Montgomery Police and Village of Walden Police responded to a 911 call of an erratic driver. The vehicle, a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, was observed on Main Street by Walden Police and was subsequently stopped. As officers approached the vehicle, the operator, Joann Schields, 52, fled and after a short pursuit struck a 2013 Toyota Rav4 head on. The driver of the Toyota, Elizabeth Bello, 35, was killed. The two passengers in the vehicle, ages 16 and 6 were injured. Schields was killed.

About 11 p.m. Justin Frostad was traveling eastbound on county road 3875 in a 2007 Kia Optima and police were pursuing him. Frostad lost control of the vehicle after crossing railroad tracks and veered off the road and his vehicle flipped several times before coming to rest on its top in a field, killing Frostad.

Police responded to reports of a man firing a gun into a vehicle. Prior to arrival, Ahmad Muhammad reportedly left on foot. Police caught up to Muhammad, and Muhammad allegedly pointed a gun at them. Police shot at Muhammad, who fled on foot again.Police caught up to him, and he pointed his gun at them again. Police shot and killed him.

Elwood Dwyer was suspected of stabbing and wounding three people. Police responded to a home and said Dwyer exited armed with a knife and charged at officers. Police shot and killed Dwyer.

An officer in a marked car tried to pull over a driver because the car was believed to be stolen. The driver fled from the traffic stop. Officers chased him before reportedly stopping the pursuit. When the driver entered an intersection, his vehicle broadsided another vehicle, rolling the victim's vehicle and killing Joe Gold. Another vehicle was hit, and the 62-year-old rideshare driver and 19-year-old passenger in the backseat were injured. The alleged driver, 37-year-old James Michael Kramer, survived the crash.

Zachary Snow's mother called Boise police asking them to find her son and help him as he was threatening his own life. At approximately 5:05 p.m. police received another call regarding a suicidal person on I-84 threatening to jump off of a building/overpass. Two officers found him in a parking lot. He allegedly made a deadly threat, and they shot and killed him. Officers M. Jacobs and C. Snodderly shot and killed Snow.

Police responded to a dispute between a landlord and tenant. Upon arrival, they encountered Koffi Dzima who allegedly was armed with a pickaxe and hammer. Dzima approached officers holding the weapons, and one officer tasered him. Dzima hit an officer over the head with the hammer, and police shot and killed him.

Lake County deputies were dispatched to a residence after Scott Wright allegedly told dispatchers he was going to kill someone. Upon arrival, deputies were confronted by Wright, who was allegedly restraining a 60-year-old woman at gunpoint. He released the woman and returned inside The woman told deputies that Wright went to her residence and confronted her about matters involving their relationship. Around 3 a.m., he allegedly assaulted her, including stabbing her. For the next four to five hours, police spoke repeatedly to Wright, who reportedly would appear in the windows and garage area armed with a long gun and a handgun. Wright allegedly began starting fires inside the home around 9 a.m. He exited the home while it was engulfed in smoke and entered the backyard with the long gun in hand. As Wright got some distance from the house, officers fired non-lethal rounds. Wright allegedly raised his rifle and leveled it at the officers, who shot and killed him.

Corey Stanley was wanted in a home invasion and assault. He was accused of breaking into a couple's home and beating them with a rock. They found him outside a white sedan parked in a parking lot. Stanley got back into the driver's seat as officers approach. He allegedly drove toward officers, and they shot and killed him.

A 78-year-old man contacted Mitchell County dispatch to report he had been kidnapped at gunpoint and held for 26 hours by an acquaintance, John Roudybush. When officers tried to serve a search warrant at Roudybush's home, he refused to come out. After an hours-long standoff, officers heard a gunshot and found Roudybush dead inside the house of a self-inflicted gunshot.

Police responded around 1:30 p.m. for domestic violence and suicidal thoughts. Officers were told a man inside a condo was considering suicide. As officers arrived, they found the man in the driveway armed with a shotgun. The man went into the attached garage and refused to leave the home. About 1 p.m., after a roughly 25-hour standoff, the man shot and killed himself.

Erik Black allegedly stole an 18-wheeler with a flatbed trailer. He fled police and jumped out of the truck as it was still in motion. The truck struck a home. Two people who were in bed inside the residence were struck by the truck. A man was injured, and Aylene "Nicole" Heaney was killed. Black was charged with murder and reckless aggravated assault. The company that owns the truck was able to use a GPS to locate the truck.

Police responded to reports of a man stabbing his roommates. Police fired bean bag rounds at Kim Ropp and a roommate with whom he was struggling. Ropp reportedly charged toward officers, and police shot and killed Ropp.

An officer responded to a call at about noon to check the welfare of a man in a vehicle, and a computer check showed he was wanted on an extraditable warrant from Florida. A struggle began between the man and the officer, and the man allegedly pointed a gun at the officer and then fled on foot into a nearby apartment. Officers unsuccessfully attempted to make contact with the man and tried to bring him out with tear gas. Reportedly knowing he was hiding in the attic, officers went in, and they shot and killed the man when he allegedly pointed a gun at police.

At 3:45 a.m., a trooper attempted a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger traveling 72 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. The driver of the Dodge refused to stop and fled. The driver of the Dodge lost control on the Route 123 ramp, ran off the right side of the road and struck the Jersey wall. The vehicle then rode up the cement wall and struck the bottom of the overpass for the I-95 Express Lanes. Troopers pulled the driver and passenger from the vehicle before it became engulfed in flames. The driver 24-year-old Curtis Armstead and the passenger was 23-year-old Miguel D. Jenkins. Both were killed.

About 1 a.m., troopers attempted to stop a white Infiniti sedan that Jahreese R. Watson-Ricks, 18, was driving at a high speeds. Watson-Ricks got off the interstate. He lost control of the car, striking trees and subsequently catching fire. Watson-Ricks attempted to flee on foot but was captured. His passenger was killed. Watson-Ricks was charged with felony homicide, involuntary manslaughter, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, reckless driving and felony eluding, and hit and run, among other charges.

Officers responding to an apartment home about 1 p.m. Leon Perry had called 911 and was incoherent before putting on the phone a child who told dispatchers they needed help. Officers arrived at the complex, Seminole Hills, and Perry began yelling that people were going to get him. A 7-year-old boy who was bound by his wrists and neck came to police from the apartment. Officers untied him, and he said there had been an argument and that his mother had been assaulted. Officers heard a gunshot and entered the apartment. When they got inside, Perry pushed Blades' lifeless, bound body down the stairs. During a confrontation, officers shot and killed Perry and rescued a 4-year-old girl, also bound.

At about 12:29 a.m., after reportedly observing a vehicle code violation, an officer stopped a Chevrolet pickup truck. The driver exited the vehicle, allegedly ignored the officer's commands to stop and fled on foot as the officer attempted to detain him. He refused to comply with the officer's commands and allegedly physically resisted as he returned to the truck. He started the truck and a struggle continued as the officer attempted to arrest him. A second officer arrived to assist as the first officer was struggling to arrest Christian Valadez at the open driver's door. He allegedly began driving away as the first officer was still struggling with him. The first officer broke free from the vehicle, avoiding injury, at which time Valadez allegedly attempted to hit the officers. An officer fired several shots, and the driver was shot and killed. The vehicle continued traveling over a chain link fence and collided into a house. No one was injured inside the home.

Around 4 a.m., a robbery was reported at a 7-Eleven. Two people fled south in a red Saturn on Western Avenue. An Oklahoma City police officer spotted the vehicle and pulled up behind it. The vehicle stopped in a nearby lot, but then sped away. The vehicle then entered I-240's westbound lanes in the wrong direction, and the police officer, traveling east in the eastbound lanes, pursued the fleeing vehicle. The fleeing vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle. The person driving the vehicle was killed, and the passenger was injured, as was the driver of the other vehicle.

Lance James Hines was wanted by police in connection to the fatal shooting of Eric Jay Rutz. At about 9:10 a.m., police received a 911 call stating a gray 2012 Toyota Prius matching the description of Hines' vehicle had been spotted at Advance Auto Parts. Officers surrounded the vehicle and heard a gunshot from inside the vehicle. Police found Hines with an ultimately self-inflicted gunshot.

About 3:39 a.m., two people involved in the robbery fled in a red Saturn and were spotted by an officer minutes later. The officer initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle pulled over in a parking before speeding away east on a westbound service road. They entered the westbound lanes of I-240 driving the wrong way, police said. The pursuing officer drove on I-240 going east in the eastbound lanes, paralleling the vehicle to keep sight of them. They crashed head-on into another vehicle. The collision killed the driver, Melvin Simpson, who attempted to elude police, and injured his passenger.

At 10 p.m., a Salisbury police officer saw a car without lights and swerving. The officer attempted a traffic stop, but the driver fled. The officer pursued the car believing that the driver was impaired. The driver turned onto Queen Avenue and struck a Wicomico County Sheriff's cruiser. He proceeded to Queen Avenue and struck another vehicle. The second crash caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle and enter Duchess Drive, where he struck a parked vehicle and hit a tree and was killed.

Memphis and Bartlett tried to stop 19-year-old Johnny Landon, whom they said had active warrants for aggravated assault. Landon stopped briefly, then hit a Bartlett squad car and fled. Memphis Police pursued Landon's vehicle but said they lost sight of him. Landon crashed into another vehicle, killing the driver, Marvin Honey.

FBI agents were investigating suspected child exploitation at a home about 9:30 a.m. An occupant of the home barricaded themselves inside, and Portland police responded. After entering the home, officers found the person dead. A spokesperson for the agency said it was unclear how the person died. No police used force during the standoff.

Colorado corrections officers, part of a fugitive apprehension task force who were trying to arrest a parole violator, Aaron Leo Lang, said he appeared to have aimed a weapon at officers who shot and killed him.

Gunfire was first reported at the Atlantic House Midtown apartments about 3:25 a.m. Officers responded within five minutes. Jarvis Jarrette allegedly fired a rifle at responding officers, and at least one officer shot and killed him. Jarrette had allegedly killed a woman he was dating, Courtney Cox, 31.

At about 5:30 p.m., police received information on a person who was wanted on several warrants was in the area. Those warrants were grand theft, auto theft, aggravated fleeing and eluding and driving with suspended license. Officers arrived and found the person inside his vehicle. Police blocked the vehicle, at which point the person drew a handgun. An officer fired a single shot missing him. After the shot was fired, the person pointed the gun at his head and shot and killed himself.

A police officer stopped for a suspicious vehicle about 11 p.m. A husband and wife inside the vehicle fled, and the officer pursued. That chase ended in Pocono Township. The man and woman had a gun in the vehicle refused to get out. The man surrendered, giving the weapon to the woman. The woman, Betty Jane Tibaldi, shot at police. Troopers shot and killed her.

Officers Kevin Conger and Peter Theriault were called to an intersection about 5:47 p.m. after a report of a man in the intersection in circles with a knife. Daniel DiMillo allegedly confronted them when they got out of their cruisers, and they shot and killed him.

Officers with the repeat offenders program were looking for Richard Thomas as he was wanted on a felony warrant. His red truck was spotted at a gas station on Golden Valley Drive. As it started to pull away, the three unmarked vehicles surrounded the truck. The officers attempted to get Thomas out of the truck, but they say he refused to comply and attempted to drive away. One officer reportedly was pinned by the driver's door as he pulled away. Another was at the passenger's side and got pinned as the door closed, and the truck drove away. Both of those officers shot and killed Thomas.

Suffolk police officers in a marked police cruiser noticed a 2004 Toyota Tacoma had stolen license plates and attempted a traffic stop. The Toyota's alleged driver, Robert Hengeveld, 50, failed to stop and fled from officers. As officers pursued, the Tacoma crashed into the Honda around 11:40 p.m. The driver of the Honda, Starlin Diaz Felipe, was killed. Hengevel was arrested and charged with reckless driving, unlawfully fleeing a police officer, criminal possession of stolen property, and multiple bench warrants.

Officers were dispatched on a report of a suspicious vehicle just after 11 a.m. Police realized the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Westminster. When more police arrived, Southard said Nicholas Vilarina, 25, allegedly rammed a squad car, and police pursued until Vilarina allegedly ran a stop sign and struck another car. A female passenger in that other car, Dulce Maria Castro Perez, 21, was killed. Police said the driver in the stolen car continued on Bierstadt, lost control of the car then hit a pedestrian, Gustavo Mosqueda Ortega, 25, who was also killed.

Shawn Dempsey, 52, and Karen Sue Dempsey, 52, were found dead. Following a pursuit, Shawn Delemore Dempsey, the couple's son, was shot and killed by Mingo County deputies after he pulled a gun and fired at officers.

An officer spotted a stolen vehicle on Bartlett Street but reportedly did not turn on the emergency lights and did not pursue. The vehicle fled. The car did not travel far before striking another vehicle. A man and a woman were inside that car. The woman, Tishara Pugh, was killed; the man was seriously injured.

Police were responding to a call when they found Christopher Conner bludgeoning his 15-year-old son with a brick in the middle of the street. The boy died. When the officer attempted to restrain Conner, he sliced the officer's throat and neck a knife. Julie Moore, 42, the child's mother, was found dead inside with multiple stab wounds.

Around 2:30 a.m., at least one Clark County deputy tried to pull Kfin Karuo over. When Karuo didn't stop, deputies forced his SUV into a berm. At some point after Karuo hit the berm, he allegedly pointed a gun. Deputies Forrest Gonzalez and David Delin shot and killed Karou.

Alexander King was carrying a pellet gun, which he allegedly pointed at officers. Police said it appeared to be a rifle, except for a faded orange tip that officers couldn't see from a distance at night. The names of the two officers who shot King are being withheld after the two officers, as well as five others at the scene who didn't fire their weapons, invoked their right to remain anonymous under Marsy's Law.

About 4 a.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired. Officers arrived at the location and began to canvass the vicinity for a maroon sport utility vehicle firing a weapon. An officer spotted a maroon Lincoln SUV with paper plates and conducted a traffic stop along with assisting officers. Guillermo Gonzalez-Gonzalez was the lone occupant. The officers shot and killed Gonzalez. Gonzalez reportedly had two guns with him at the time of the incident: a semiautomatic handgun and a long rifle.

A Jacksboro officer and a Jack County deputy were dispatched to a home on a domestic disturbance call. Two women were able to escape and met officers near the Jack County Memorial Park. Vanessa K. Massengale, reported that she had been assaulted by her husband, Lewis E. Massengale II. Officers attempted to contact Lewis, but were unsuccessful. Police entered the residence at 7:27 a.m. and found Lewis dead.

Police found Michael Nelson Jr. inside a stolen vehicle at the Milpitas Square Shopping Center. Nelson initially got out of the vehicle, looked at the officers and re-entered the vehicle. Nelson then began shooting at the officers, who shot and killed him.

A deputy was called to a home around 2 p.m. A caller reported a man was chasing a family member with a knife. When the deputy arrived at the home, the man reportedly stabbed the deputy. A second deputy shot and killed him.

Russell Leggett reportedly shot at a Banning police officer at a traffic stop on State Route 243 disabling the officer's vehicle. Leggett then fled in an older-model green station wagon, ultimately heading east on the 10 Freeway, and officers from the Banning, Beaumont and Palm Springs police departments and the Sheriff's Department pursued. Leggett allegedly fired at officers several times during the pursuit, which ended when he exited the freeway and came to a stop on the North Indian Canyon Drive off-ramp, where gunfire was exchanged. A standoff ensued, with Leggett still in the car and sheriff's deputies and Palm Springs police deploying armored vehicles. Eventually, police approached the vehicle and found Leggett dead inside, along with a rifle.

Around 3:37 p.m., Bobby Jo Klum was allegedly seen walking with a handgun to his head near the intersection of 8th and Iowa streets. Police described him as a "wanted and armed individual," but did not disclose why Klum was wanted. Police said two less-lethal rounds were discharged at Klum before he was fatally shot.

Carlos Arias was shot and killed by an officer responding to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. Arias allegedly was holding family members at knifepoint, and a responding officer shot him. The shooting occurred just before 6 a.m.

Police responded to a call of a person shot. When they arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her foot. Police said the shooting apparently stemmed from a domestic incident. Dowdell fled into an apartment. When officers set up a perimeter around the apartment, Dowdell fired multiple shots at officers. As the four-hour standoff stretched on with no communication, police went into the apartment and found Dowdell dead.

Steven David Schumann was sought by state police for absconding parole for felonious assault. A woman had been riding in Schumann's car when troopers approached. Schumann pulled out a weapon and it became a hostage situation. Two troopers shot and killed Schumann. The hostage was injured.

Off-duty officer Yvonne Wu was waiting for her ex-girlfriend, Jenny Li, at Li's apartment in Brooklyn. When Li walked in the door, Wu allegedly shot both her and the other woman, Jamie Liang, killing Liang.

Around noon, police arrived to serve a search warrant at a home when they encountered an armed man. Police said the man pointed a gun at officers, and an exchange of gunfire followed. The officers shot and killed Bryan Calvin Lee.

Officers were dispatched to an apartment at 9:33 a.m. on an assault and battery call. The kidnapping victim's current boyfriend had told arriving officers that her ex-boyfriend, Martinez, had been harassing them and fired shots before kicking in the front door of the apartment to forcibly remove the woman. Martinez threatened her with a 9 mm handgun and tried to escape in her car, but fled with her on foot because her car's battery was dead. Officers located Martinez and the victim near a shopping center at about 10:50 a.m. and ordered him to surrender. Martinez did not comply and walked with the victim at gunpoint to the plaza's parking lot. Martinez unsuccessfully tried to steal several vehicles in the plaza parking lot. The two made their way through a grocery store and left through the back and into an alley. In the alley, Martinez tried to steal an unoccupied box truck and shot out its window, but was unable to start the vehicle. While he and the victim were in the alley, officers set up a containment around the shopping center and a team of officers -- which included Officer Ramon Hiestand -- made contact with Martinez. The two made their way to the sidewalk, when he pointed his gun at officers, and the woman was able to break free. Hiestand shot Martinez, prompting him to fall to the ground. Martinez fired more shots at officers while on the ground, and Hiestand continued to shoot until Martinez was dead.

Jermaine Jones and his father and his uncle were pulled over for a tinted case covering the license plate. Officers asked the driver, Jones' uncle, for consent to search the vehicle. Another deputy then arrived with a dog that reportedly smelled narcotics in the vehicle.An officer found a handgun and crack pipe under the rear passenger seat where Jones was sitting and Jones fled. An officer tasered him, from which he died a week later.

Officers pursued a man reportedly wanted for several felony offenses through multiple counties before he fatally shot himself in the head. Police said the man in his 20s was found in his vehicle with a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the end of the chase around 10 p.m.

Troopers received a call around 9 a.m. about a domestic disturbance. Officers discovered that Joshua Ebinger was violating a protection order a woman had placed against him. Two Ripley County deputies, a Indiana State Police trooper and a Versailles police officer responded to the residence. Officers said the woman exited the home and was moved to a safe location. Ebinger reportedly exited the residence, holding a handgun. Officers commanded Ebinger to drop the handgun. He allegedly pointed the weapon at the officers. The trooper and one of the deputies shot and killed Ebinger.

Deputies responded to a U.S. 231 business regarding a burglary. When officers arrived they reportedly saw a man loading an air conditioner onto a vehicle and ordered him to stop but, instead, he drove toward those officers. The deputies shot and killed Perry Lamar Stringfellow Jr.

Deputies responded to a call about a domestic dispute between a husband and wife. The husband, Calvin Robinson, 52, fled in a car and after a short pursuit, he stopped and confronted with a weapon, allegedly pointed it at officers, and officers shot and killed him.

A traffic stop happened about 8 p.m. during which the man driving the car, Gustavo Esparza, opened fire on officers before fleeing. The pursuit ended at 4th Street and Davis Avenue with the driver refusing to get out of the car. A standoff lasted over two hours, until Esparza allegedly shot at officers, and police shot and killed him.

Officers were responding to a DWI call a block away when they heard gunshots in the entertainment district at around 1 a.m. The officers arrived to find two groups of men shooting at one another. An officer began firing at the men. Michael "Mikey" Carothers was killed. It was not immediately known whether the teen was killed by officer-fired bullets or from the other group involved in the shooting.

A Middlesboro police officer shot and killed Timothy Houston around 4:30 a.m. Houston reportedly was wanted in Claiborne County, Tennessee on charges stemming from a previous shooting.

Around 6 p.m. deputies were doing a welfare check on Derrick Clinton II. Clinton had been reported missing by family members. Officers were unable to get anyone to answer the door and had obtained a search warrant to enter the apartment. Deputies entered, and Clinton was inside and fired upon the, reportedly striking one. A deputy shot and killed him.

Matthew A. Marston died during an unspecified confrontation with officers in Dixfield. Marston was shot by Officer Dustin Broughton of the Mexico Police Department, but the State Medical Examiner determined that his death was due to a self-inflicted gunshot.

Ramone Dwight allegedly sped away from a license checkpoint on Highways 129 and 169, while shooting at police. Dwight then led police on a high-speed chase that reached speeds of more 100 miles per hour. He lost control of his car and got out and shot at officers. An Evans County deputy and a Hagan police officer shot and killed him.

Alaska State Troopers and local police arrived at a Salcha residence around 7 a.m. Scott W. Hottinger left the home while armed and started to shout. Hottinger allegedly fired a gun, and police shot and killed him.

Deputies had stopped Lance Stelzer, who was riding a moped. A fight between Stelzer and Deputy Martin Folczyk broke out during the traffic stop. Stelzer allegedly sprayed Folczyk with wasp/hornet killer. Folczyk shot and killed Stelzer.

Two officers in separate squad cars were watching for traffic violations on eastbound 70. The officers reportedly saw a Ford Expedition that was speeding, and they initiated a traffic stop just after 2 a.m. There were two men and one woman inside of the pulled-over SUV. One officer approached the passenger side of the SUV. As the officer was approaching, Johan Quintero got out of the SUV's rear passenger seat and reportedly reached for his waistband to get a firearm. The officer attempted to disarm the man. The officer shot and killed Quintero.

Around 9 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a home. There, three officers encountered Lloyd Grant McClung, Jr., who was armed with a shotgun. The officers ordered McClung to drop his weapon, which he ignored. He allegedly continued advancing toward the officers, who shot and killed him.

Police came to an apartment to arrest Antonio Armstrong for a recent domestic incident. He allegedly shot at them before barricading himself inside, sparking a three-hour standoff that ended with him shooting and killing himself.

U.S. Marshals intended to serve an arrest warrant on an individual wanted for charges including aggravated assault and weapons violations. As officers approached the home, they were fired upon, an agent was shot and wounded, and officers fell back. Negotiations took place, and several children and adults exited the residence. Following negotiations, police entered the home and found the man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot.

Deputies were dispatched to a report of a domestic violence incident. They requested the sheriff's helicopter fly over the neighborhood, and spotted an SUV believed to be the Fidel Bedolla's. Deputies found Bedolla seated in the front seat, and report that he eventually left the SUV and raised a handgun at deputies, who shot and killed him.

An officer with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was attempting to bring a man into custody in connection with a drug investigation when gunfire was exchanged. The officer shot and killed Corey Daniel Wellman, the man who was sought.

Officers said they were responding to reports about a man shooting a gun after 4 p.m. They trapped the man in a fenced yard. The man, Donte Lorenzo Laster, allegedly fired several rounds at officers. Shortly after, Officer Michael Cooper shot and killed Laster.

Toledo police were attempting to stop a vehicle when the driver fled, leading police on a chase before crashing into a duplex. The vehicle ended upside down in the home. The 20-year-old passenger, Kemarr D. Thomas, was killed in the crash, and the 27-year-old driver was seriously injured.

A domestic disturbance was reported about 2:20 p.m. When police arrived, a person barricaded themselves inside the home, and officers were told about a firearm inside. Police said they tried to communicate with the person inside for hours, going into the home around 8 p.m. and finding the person dead.

Tom Sharkey was wanted for questioning regarding the murder of his wife, 26-year-old Alexis Sharkey. He was found shot in the head inside his daughter's Fort Myers home. At approximately 10 p.m., police were initially able to speak with Tom Sharkey, but he ran upstairs and shot and killed himself.

A DEA task force was apparently searching a train. An agent was shot and killed by Damon Taylor, who was also shot and killed.

Officers were called to a home by a "male subject from inside the house," around 7:35 a.m. after getting a call about a "domestic disturbance" between a man and a woman there. The officers saw a domestic altercation within, and the responding officer shot and killed Michael A. Craig. Craig may have been the victim of the domestic disturbance, having been stabbed by his wife.

Police received a call about 3 a.m. for an unspecified emergency. A deputy arrived and was met by a person who was armed. The armed person allegedly lunged at the deputy, and the deputy shot and killed R.V. Johnson.

At approximately 7:58 a.m, troopers received a call of a domestic battery inside of a gray Toyota Corolla, which was occupied by a woman and a man. Witnesses reported to police seeing a male striking the female several times. At approximately 8:19 a.m., troopers located the vehicle in the area of Lake Mead Blvd. near mile marker 14, and shot and killed Adrian Zarate-Cervantes at approximately 8:26 a.m.

Officer Chase Gardner tried to stop the man from exiting the East Platte Walmart just before 4 p.m. The man fled through the Walmart parking lot, and Gardner chased him and ordered him to stop. David Lee Jacques Jr.darted down nearby Pine Tree Square and hid behind a car in another business parking lot. Gardner deploy a Taser, but Jacques pulled a handgun and shot off at least one round. Gardner shot and killed him.

Around 2 a.m., a clerk working at the QuikTrip called 911 to report a suicidal person. The clerk said a woman was at the convenience store and said her boyfriend had threatened her, made suicidal statements and possibly fired a gun in a home. The woman was no longer at Quiktrip when officers arrived. Officers at the home talked with a man who said he was letting Jess Jackson stay with him. The man let officers inside the home. Officers found Jackson in bed. The officers ordered Jackson to get out of bed and show his hands, but he ignored the commands and reached toward the floor. One officer then fired four shots, killing Jackson.

A report of a stolen vehicle came in at 8:44 a.m. Three minutes later, an officer spotted the vehicle, a 2022 Mercedes SL. An officer turned on police lights and siren and tried to stop the car. The driver ran through a red light and crashed into another vehicle moments later, and he was injured. Paula Kennedy, who was in the other vehicle, was killed.

About 8:30 p.m., police received the report of a domestic dispute at a home involving a firearm. The caller stated that Jazmine Thein used a firearm to shoot at her brother. Her brother fled to a neighbor's house. Deputies arrived and were able to confirm that Thein was inside the residence. Shortly after 6 a.m., deputies found her dead in a bedroom from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot.

At 3:26 a.m., n officer saw a car driving fast and began pursuing it. About a minute later, the officer reportedly called off the chase when the car got too far ahead. Police said Robyn Danyel Murrel lost control and crashed into a tree. She was killed; her passenger was injured.

About 11 p.m., a Rogersville police officer spotted a truck on Main Street that was being sought. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver, Buster Lee Carpenter, tried to make a U-turn and crashed into the side of a house. As the officer got out of his vehicle and approached the truck, the driver backed the truck up and struck the officer's vehicle. Initial reports suggested the subject then drove the truck toward the officer, who shot and killed Carpenter.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., an officer with the Houston Police Department spotted Ahmedal Tayeb Elnouman Modawi, who was driving a white Infiniti G37, doing doughnuts in a parking lot. When the officer activated his sirens in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop, police said Modawi fled at high speed down the residential street. Modawi then allegedly hit three valets, 22-year-old Eric Orduna, 23-year-old Nick Rodriguez and 18-year-old Fnan Measho, before flipping the vehicle and crashing into a fence. Modawi, 17, is charged with three counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault with serious bodily injury.

Police suspected Jason Metcalfe of being involved in the murder of Timothy Vogel, 32. Metcalfe allegedly shot Vogel and stole a 2016 Chevy pickup truck before they pursued him in a chase that stretched through several different counties. Once Metcalfe entered Clinton County, the Ohio State Highway Patrol deployed stop sticks. When Metcalfe's vehicle came to a stop after hitting the sticks, he got out of the car and displayed a weapon. He reportedly shot and killed himself during an exchange of gunfire with police.

Around 11:45 p.m., a Lakeville police officer reportedly spotted a motorcycle operating recklessly on Main Street, traveling at a speed of 68 miles per hour in a 40 miles per hour zone. The officer tried to pull the motorcycle over, but the driver did not stop. The officer briefly followed the motorcycle on Main Street but reportedly abandoned pursuit. A short time after calling off the pursuit but continuing to follow, the officer came upon the motorcycle, which had crashed into a telephone pole just over the Middleboro town line, killing the driver.

Deputies received a call for a suspicious person outside of a convenience store, which led to a short pursuit around 8 a.m. A deputy who had stopped at the store to take a break was told by a store clerk that the man, Nicholas Norris, who was outside, had been scaring customers over the past few days. Norris fled. A deputy reported that Norris was driving in circles and driving erratically on Potranco Road. The deputies reengaged a pursuit because it was rush hour. Deputy Joseph Trevino shot at the vehicle, killing Norris.

At least one Middlesboro Police Department officer shot and Daniel Joseph Ledford. Nearly all information regarding this killing has been withheld by police.

Mesa police caught up with the suspect in the robbery of Desert Financial Credit Union in Mesa. Officers told him to get out of the car, but Stephen Phil Franco refused. He reportedly indicated he was armed and exited the vehicle. Police sicced a police dog on him. Franco allegedly lowered his band to his waistband, and officers shot and killed him.

At about 5 p.m., Anaheim police spotted Brandon Lopez, an armed-robbery suspect, driving a reportedly stolen car in Santa Ana. Police pursued with the assistance of a police chopper, but officers reportedly pulled back. A little while later, Lopez's car was spotted disabled in a construction, with the suspect holed up inside. Police spent four hours unsuccessfully trying to convince Lopez to surrender. A little before 10 p.m., police deployed tear gas to force the suspect out of the car, police said. After he exited the car, officers shot and killed him. Police withheld details about why officers killed him, or whether he was armed or returned fire.

About 4 p.m., Hillsborough Police went to a home on Piedmont Path after a 911 call reported an emergency inside the home. Hillsborough Police Officers encountered a man inside who was a resident of the house. During the encounter, one officer shot and killed Patrick Chin at around 4:16 p.m.

About 2:30 p.m., police responded to a disturbance call. Officers were unable to locate the disturbance, but began looking around the area. In the Wendy's parking lot, officers saw a woman holding a rifle at her side and heard several gunshots. Strong, still holding the rifle, began to run east, and an officer shot and killed her. When officers got to the parking lot, they found Michael Anthony Cooper, 24, with gunshot wounds laying between two vehicles.

Deputies attempted to stop Honeycutt for driving without license plates, but he didn't stop. Deputies reportedly did not pursue Honeycutt, but when they saw him turn down a dead end street, officers put out spike strips to stop Honeycutt when he came back. The deputies stopped the vehicle, at which point officers, tried to arrest Honeycutt. He allegedly resisted and pulled a revolver, and police shot and killed him.

Around 8 a.m., DeKalb County officers responded to calls about a man walking on I-20. The officer offered him a ride to the nearest gas station. After the DeKalb officer pulled into a nearby Shell Station, Christan Smith allegedly pulled out a gun. Officers shot and killed Smith.

Around 1:30 a.m., the Zavala County Sheriff's Office heard a call from the Crystal City Police Department. The officer with CCPD was in pursuit of a white Chevy Camaro that was traveling north toward La Pryor. The deputy deployed a tire deflection device and the Camaro rolled over, crashed and was engulfed in flames. Driver Gabriel Salazar, 19, and passengers Jose Luis Jimenez-Mora, 41, Jose Molina-Lara, 23, and Sergio Espinoza-Flores, 36, were killed.

A relative of a Bosque County boy and girl, Randall Thurman, 34, abducted the siblings and was killed when he intentionally steered a car into the path of an oncoming motorist as deputies pursed him. The other driver, Maureena Charles Reid, 85, was also killed in the collision in Johnson County.

About 3:15 p.m., officers received reports about a man with a gun at Huntington City Beach. Ronnie Andrew Garcia reported held a weapon under a piece of clothing. Officers demanded he drop it. When Garcia failed to comply, officers shot and killed him in two volleys of gunfire.

Around 1:30 a.m., the Zavala County Sheriff's Office heard a call from the Crystal City Police Department. The officer with CCPD was in pursuit of a white Chevy Camaro that was traveling north toward La Pryor. The deputy deployed a tire deflection device and the Camaro rolled over, crashed and was engulfed in flames. Cedric Lofton's heart and breathing stopped after he was handcuffed while lying on his stomach. Lofton was in the custody of the Sedgwick County Juvenile Intake and Assessment Center in Wichita when his altercation with staff members. He was taken to a local hospital and died two days later.
